We'll email you the code within one business day - then all you have to do is enter it in at the welcome screen of the trial download. Then you can really get working on your cookbook!

    i found the software very easy to use and load on my computer, i have made several cookbooks with it so far, i just wish the software had more layouts to choose from and you could print blank pages with the same layout to add in the back of the book for hand written additions to the cook book, also would like additional fonts that i could use, for the price you couldnt go wrong.
    REPLY FROM THE COOKBOOK PEOPLE: You can add blank pages Gene, from the recipe section. As long as you give a title, say Miscellaneous, you can print off as many of these sheets as you like using the 'Print this recipe" button in the Recipe section.     I have recipes everywhere - cards, slips of paper, napkins, you name it. My children are grown and it's time to get all the family favorites in one place. Its wonderful being able to link family biographies with each recipe, so even if my children never met the author, they now know the person behind the food. It connects the generations in a very personal way. I'm also using it to document our traditional menus for the holidays, so that won't be lost over time. A great product, and you don't have to be a computer whiz to use it.

    I had purchased this software a couple of years ago and loved it. I recently bought a new computer and the old software CD was not compatible with my new computer so I purchased the CB-SACTIVATION KEYJS and downloaded the program on my new computer! It is so simple to use. I highly recommend.

    I LOVE the cookbook software! The only reason I gave it 4 stars instead of 5 is the symbols are quite confusing. When you enter 1/2 cup it is in one font & 1/3 is a different one. You click ger more & you have to go to another website. Otherwise I have really enjoyed the simplicity of it. I am gathering & printing all of my grnadmothers & mother's recipes & mine of course to make a personalized cookbook for my daughters for Christmas. They are always calling asking how grandma cooked this or that & this will be theirs forever!

    I don't like that it doesn't print each recipe on a separate page, when I tried the print feature out, they broke up the recipes on different pages.
    Also would like to print different recipes in different looks as part of the book.

    Very easy to enter names and recipes. I would like to see a preview of the recipes with layout and formatting before wasting paper for printing. Could use more of the 1/3 and 2/3 and 3/4 measurements. Happy with it so far.

    I love this program! I have published 2 cookbooks with ease. Any questions you have have regarding set up are answered quickly. I printed the text myself and had Office Depot print the cover and bind. Sold every cookbook I had. I am now working on a 3rd one.

    This is great. Just what I've been looking for!! I'm doing this for my mom and after 4years I finally can do it. It's easy and the picture import is what I wanted! A great place to put old pictures to those old recipes. Thank you for doing this!!! Any one can use it even if your not good at computers!!!

    I purchased this software to facilitate producing a cookbook for my United Methodist Men's group. We are selling the cookbook to support our mission efforts. I am completely satisfied with the software. Not only in the ease of use, but also with the real time support I've received from The Cookbook people. I particulary enjoy having the ability to copy and paste pictures of the food into each recipe page. A good resourse for picitures is google.com/images. I'm also enjoying the spell check and the cookbook related reference buttons. I would recommend this software to anyone.

    Software is fairly easy to navigate. Wish there were better choices for decorating the pages as I don't like any of them. Guess it will work for what I want to do. Haven't printed out anything yet so am hoping it will print ok.

    Purchased the software to compile a cookbook for my daughter. Overall very pleased, especially with the ability to upload photos and enter biographies. Print options leave a little to be desired.

  16. one problem

    While I love this program the one frustrating problem is that even when you have spaced down to the next line, when you use one of the quick buttons for any of the fractions (1/2, 2/3 etc) it automatically bounces back up to the previous line putting the number there rather than on the new line. This causes you to have to stop and fix the spacing moving it down to the next line where it should be . If there is a fix for this I would love to know....lindaschneider59@yahoo.com

    It has been pretty easy to use so far. I did submit a question to the helpdesk last night about importing pdf's and I have not gotten a response yet. That is why I only gave it a 4 instead of a 5.

    The software is very simple to use and I was able to complete my cookbook very quickly. However, I wish there were more design applications/templates as I didn't like any of them. In addition, I think there should be more flexibility to the software. Add a feature to print only one recipe per page and a back-to-back printing option.

    [Hi Wanda- There currently is a "Print one recipe per page" setting in the software. Printing pages back-to-back is always managed through your own printer's software. So when you hit the print button and the print dialog screen comes up, your printer should give you the option to print double-sided/alternating pages in most instances. - Best wishes, Matilda]

    I truly love the simplicity of this software. I dont think it could have been made any easier to enter the recipes. I also love that you have included a spell check option. In no time at all I had nearly 100 recipes entered. I also appreciated the ease in downloading the software and loved how easy it was to get started.

    However, I wish it would allow me to adjust fonts in both the recipe titles and also on the book title itself. But what I really wish I could do, is fromatting and adjusting on the recipe pages. When I do a print preview, I notice that there may be only a title at the bottom of the page, or the last line of a recipe may be the beginning of a new page. I dont want to do 1 recipe per page, but may end up having to do that to keep the complete recipe together.

    Before I purchased Matilda's cookbook software, I checked out other online cookbook softwares. Most were online/monthly fee books that you enter information into (for a monthly fee, of course!) and then pay even more to have your book published! Matilda's was the most economic and user- friendly. (I am a retired computer teacher, so am familier with reviewing software and what to look for). I love the extra features of having the options of printing out address and birthday pages to add to your cookbook- especially great for personal Family Recipe Books! My 10 yr. old granddaughter even uses the software to add her own recipes! I definately recommend this software for beginners AND veteran computer users!

    I am passing my praise on to my associates. I hope they support your great software. We are a non-profit serving in VA. We are working on a special cookbook that we can sell for a fundraiser. We feed about 400 needy folks daily, but the dollars to stay afloat are scarce indeed. I'm 71 and rounding the last corner in this great race.     My boyfriend and I have spent many wonderful hours cooking in the kitchen. Over the last three years we have found some fine recipes and even invented a few of our own. For his birthday I wanted to get him a gift he would truly love. I purchased your software and wrote a cookbook for him. I included 50 of our favorite recipes and "our story", as well as some great pictures of us. The best part is that we can continue to add recipes we have not discovered yet. I printed it myself and had it spiral bound... I think we will be printing an updated version every year or so.

    I started a family cookbook two or three years ago and had been at a stand still, looking for something to help with the organization and design. I recently ran across this software and it is EXACTLY what I was looking for. I was also very happy with the reasonable price. So far it has been very easy to use and fast! I am hoping to finally get a cookbook out to my sisters and nieces for a christmas gift this year!!
